Matt Schellenberg and Bill Gulliford are the councillors who scheduled the meeting following a series of critical remarks by other member over Ms Laquidara’s handling of issues ranging from contracts to pensions, reports News4Jax.

‘Continued service’

A ‘no confidence’ resolution had previously been raised by council member Kimberly Daniels but later withdrawn.
Although the council itself does not have the power to remove Ms Laquidara, the council can pass a resolution asking the mayor to dismiss her.
However, Mayor Alvin Brown recently issues a stirring appraisal of the GC, highlighting her ‘three decades of legal experience’ and stating that he looked forward to her ‘continued service’.
