Mobile risk for law departments

Mobile devices may do more harm than good in terms of security, according to the 2013 In-house Tech Survey by Corporate Counsel.

Research from Corporate Counsel magazine reveals that 23 per cent of law departments do not implement security measures when it comes to mobile devices nor do most legal departments have a standard policy on mobile devices despite the high risks attached to such devices being lost or stolen.

Policies for mobile security

The survey goes on to discuss policies for work related documents after noting that 71 per cent of law departments do not monitor the transfer of digital files to and from other devices. The report questions the number of platforms these documents actually reside on, pointing out that having a mobile device goes hand in hand with having a plan in which to protect the company's work.
