Supreme Court on the hunt for new Justices

Three seats are up grabs in the Supreme Court - including that of the President.

This is the first time that so many vacancies have occurred simultaneously on the UK’s highest court.

It follows the retirement of Lord Toulson last summer, and the upcoming retirements of Lords Neuberger and Clarke.

More seats to follow

However, the trend is set to continue with nine seats in total (including those above) to become available between now and mid-2020.

The decision was thus made to hire in blocks of three to encourage wide participation in the selection process.

Current annual salary for the President of the court is £222,862, while a justice’s is £215,256. Applications close on March 10, 2017.
