Northrop Grumman has appointed a new European head of legal Maxine Huiyu

American aerospace and defence technology company Northrop Grumman Corporation has appointed Roger Wiltshire as its new European head of legal. Mr Wiltshire replaces Wolf Von Kumberg who is retiring. Mr Wiltshire will report to the US-based general counsel Kathryn Simpson.

Columbia Bank has appointed two senior lawyers onto its leadership team. Kumi Yanamoto Baruffi joins the bank's executive management team and will oversee Columbia's legal services. She was previously at  Seattle law firm Graham and Dunn. Mark Finkelstein joins the board, having served as general counsel at healthcare company Emeritus Corp.

Sabre Corporation has appointed Rachel Gonzalez as executive vice president and general counsel. She joins Sabre,  which is a global technology provider to the travel and tourism industry, from Dean Foods in Dallas, Texas. Prior to that, she worked at Affiliated Computer Services and as a parter at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. She will take up the job on 22 September and will lead a global team dealing with legal strategy, regulatory affairs, corporate compliance and government affairs.

Clean water technology company HaloSource has hired Robyn Adams as its general counsel and IP lawyer. She will manage all the legal and intellectual property matters for the company. She previously worked for ZymoGenetics and Epigenomics. Halo provides innovative chemistry for water purification.

The general counsel of DuPont, Tom Sager, has left the company after nearly 40 years to join a law firm. Mr Sager was best known for developing the convergence model which saw the company hand out legal work to a small group of firms and focus on increased efficiency and successful outcomes. Alternative fees were the preferred way of paying external lawyers with incentives for successful outcomes. He joins the Philadelphia office of Ballard Spahr in Philadephia.
