Four in five companies now use competitive bidding to distribute work to outside firm and only 13 per cent of companies do not have an established process for deciding which law firms to use.

The results, from this year’s GC Excellence survey, also reveal that 26 per cent of legal departments have a process for every engagement with external advisors whilst 61 per cent say it depends on the matter needing advice.
