Healthcare and employment law firm Epstein Becker & Green is expanding its consulting arm with two healthcare and human resources specialists, while Orrick has added seven partners to its office in Houston, Texas.

Sam Nussbaum and Xan Raskin have joined Epstein’s consulting arm, EBG Advisors. Mr Nussbaum was formerly executive vice president and chief medical officer at healthcare insurance provider Anthem and also served as a professor and clinical leader at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He will be based in Washington, DC. Mr Raskin was previously assistant general counsel at Bristol-Myers Squibb and will be based in New York.

Meanwhile, Orrick has added seven partners in Houston, bringing the total headcount of the office it opened in January to 22. Five of the new partners, including the Houston office leader Carlos Treistman, joined from Morgan Lewis & Bockius, while two others joined from McGuireWoods. The group has a focus on M&A, energy and tax.

From the Morgan Lewis group, Mr Treistman and Rodrigo Dominguez will co-chair Orrick’s Latin America practice. Both work on cross-border transactions, and Mr Dominguez is licensed in Mexico, New York and Texas. David Ronn and Barbara de Marigny are to join the firm today from McGuire Woods; Mr Ronn focuses on corporate and securities matters for master limited partnerships in the energy sector and Barbara de Marigny’s practice involves tax structuring around transactions.
