Aristomenis (Aris) Tzannetis was born in Athens in 1967 and called to the Athens Bar in 1991. Since 2005 he has been the Managing Partner at Αristomenis Tzannetis Law Firm, a firm specializing in financial criminal cases. In 2004 he was elected as Lecturer in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has been promoted to Assistant Professor in 2011, to Associate Professor in 2021 and since 2025 he has been Ordinary Professor in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. He teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level, mainly in Criminal Procedure and Financial Crime. He has published numerous articles in Greek and German in various fields of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure He has participated in various Legislative Committees, having been Member of the Drafting Committee of the New Code of Criminal Procedure that came into force in 2019. Since 2013 he has been General Secretary of the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association.
