Barbara Jelonek-Jarco, PhD is a Partner of the Business Litigation and Specialised Sector Disputes, and Negotiation and Mediation Practice. She focuses on effective conflict resolution and protecting clients’ interests. She has been recognised as a Dispute Resolution Litigation Star in the Benchmark Litigation Europe 2025 ranking. She assists clients with strategic counselling and negotiation, both pre-litigation and during litigation, and evaluates litigation risk.
As an IMI-Certified Mediation Advocate, Barbara assists clients in effective negotiations and mediations, providing quick and efficient solutions to commercial and civil disputes. She participates in litigation, including international litigation, before state courts and arbitration courts, and acts as counsel (of counsel) in numerous proceedings, including international arbitration proceedings, including those involving disputes based on bilateral investment treaties. Many of these proceedings are precedent-setting. Barbara specialises in strategic counselling for foreign investors and capital groups, handling commercial and civil disputes, and protecting their interests in key proceedings. She is included in the list of Recommended Arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration at the Confederation of Lewiatan in Warsaw and the Court of Arbitration at the National Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. Within the scope of her practice, she has also conducted numerous administrative court proceedings.
As a doctor of jurisprudence and assistant professor in the Department of Civil Law at the Jagiellonian University, Barbara combines practice with academia, providing clients with precise legal analyses based on the latest research and case law. She is author of numerous publications and a speaker at international and domestic industry conferences.
