Cristian Gual is a partner at Uría Menéndez. He leads the International Arbitration and Litigation team and heads the broader dispute resolution group in Barcelona. After graduating in philosophy and law, he joined the firm in 2001. He was seconded to Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York, where he collaborated with the Litigation and the Restructuring and Finance teams. Cristian specialises in complex civil and commercial disputes for both national and multinational companies. He has extensive experience in dealing with mass and collective claims relating to competition and intangible assets (antitrust private enforcement, unfair competition and intellectual property), as well as in corporate disputes (director liability and securities litigation), and more general contractual liability and tort cases. Cristian represents his clients before Spanish courts at all levels, as well as in national and international arbitration proceedings. He has also handled mediation proceedings and has been appointed as an arbitrator in both institutional and ad hoc proceedings.
