Gerard Kelly SC is Co-Head of the Dispute Resolution team and Head of the Intellectual Property Law team at Mason Hayes & Curran. He is a commercial litigator with a focus on breach of contract, defamation and regulatory litigation as well as a significant specialism in intellectual property (IP) disputes. He has been involved in many of the most high-profile and complex IP court cases in Ireland in recent years and advises clients on a wide range of IP matters and disputes, including substantial patent, passing off, trade mark, copyright and design litigation. He is a registered Irish and European trade mark agent and has a particular expertise in the protection and licensing strategies for IP rights. He also has extensive experience of more general commercial litigation across a range of industries. He was appointed Senior Counsel by the Government of Ireland in 2025 in recognition of his expertise and experience.
