Gerd D. Goyvaerts is a senior partner at Tiberghien. His tax practice is mainly focused on private clients and covers professional and private estate taxation of Belgian entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals, international corporate and private tax planning for private clients, death duties and estate planning, and tax-inspired migration from and to Belgium. He focuses on and has a special interest in tax issues relevant to Anglo-Saxon trusts, foreign and Belgian foundations and settlements, and he is a leading practitioner in voluntary disclosure proceedings, anti-money laundering legislation and voluntary disclosures. Gerd regularly speaks and publishes on private-client-related tax issues. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and current presiding Chair of the IBA Private Client Tax Committee; president of the Belgian Association of Tax Lawyers; an international fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust law (TIAETL). He is the former president and vice president of the Tax Commission of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA).
