Harriet Berridge

Harri joined Stobbs in 2012 and qualified as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in 2015. She assists on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious matters, specialising in the retail sector, particularly in fashion retail, meaning she has extensive knowledge of the kinds of issues and challenges fashion brands can face in relation to different areas of IP. This has helped Harri develop her specialism in relation to fashion and she now heads up the fashion practice at Stobbs. Her practice includes advising a wide range of clients across different sectors on the creation and clearance of new brands, putting together international filing strategies, domain name strategies, IP management and enforcement, dealing with contentious issues and advising on designs and copyright. Harri also advises brands on their online enforcement strategies. As well as advising multinational companies, Harri assists start-ups and SMEs in relation to all areas of their brand protection strategies. Of particular interest is advising emerging fashion brands and designers, especially those with an emphasis on sustainable and ethical practices. Harri writes for the Stobbs blog and has also had articles published in external publications such as the Journal of Intellectual Property and CITMA. She regularly attends seminars and webinars relating to fashion law and other issues relevant to the fashion industry, such as regulatory issues around sustainability. Along with other fashion enthusiasts at Stobbs, Harri has set-up and helps to run Intangible Threads, Stobbs' fashion-focused Instagram account aimed at fashion start-ups.
