Ian is head of DeHeng’s Technology Law Committee and the deputy director of the 12th Legal Professional Committee of Digital Economy and the Artificial Intelligence of the Beijing Lawyers Association. He also sits as a data protection expert for the National Engineering Laboratory of Cybersecurity Emergency Response Technology (NELCERT) and serves as an academic dissertation evaluation expert of the Ministry of Education (cybersecurity field).
Ian has been involved in the policy research and legislative support of several of China’s data protection regulations. He is also the associate editor-in-chief of one of the first books in China on data cross-border transfer — Global Data Cross-border Transfer Governance.
Ian has consistently been recognised by Chambers and Partners, LEGALBAND, ALB, Legal 500, Asian Legal Business, Who’s Who Legal, and others in the fields of data protection, privacy and cybersecurity.
