Jake advises clients on regulatory authorisations and strategic execution across the financial services and digital assets sectors. His work spans licensing applications under the MiCA Regulation and the Financial Institutions Act, as well as the development of governance, procurement and subsidy frameworks for leading DeFi ecosystems, including Arbitrum and Uniswap.

Before joining Axis, Jake formed part of PwC Malta’s financial advisory team, where he assisted clients on financial due diligence, business valuations, real estate, and capital market transactions. He subsequently joined the MFSA, where he assessed authorisation applications under the MiCA Regulation, the Virtual Financial Assets Framework, and the Financial Institutions Act, covering payment service providers and electronic money institutions. During this period, he contributed to the approval of two of the first EMTs licensed within the EU.

At Axis, Jake has led the preparation and submission of licensing applications under MiCA and the Financial Institutions Act, including the drafting of business plans, policies, and procedures, and direct engagement with the MFSA. He has also prepared multiple MiCA white papers for regulatory notification across the EU.
