Jorge Bofill focuses his practice on dispute resolution. He has represented clients before Chilean courts and arbitration panels, both domestic and international, under the ICSID and ICC rules. He is experienced in the resolution of disputes before they reach the courts, cross-border disputes and internal investigations. Aside from his legal practice, Mr. Bofill advised the Chilean Senate from 1997 to 2001 on the Criminal Procedure Reform that created a new institutional framework for criminal prosecution, as well as Law No. 20.393, which introduced the criminal liability of legal entities into Chile, among other ad honorem legislative collaborations. Mr. Bofill was a member of the Presidential Commission for drafting a new Criminal Code and has represented the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office in antitrust matters. In 2015, Mr. Bofill was nominated by the Secretary-General of the United Nations as the only Latin American on the six-person panel in charge of reviewing the UN’s internal justice system. Other members included Hina Jilani, Navanethem Pillay, Leonid Skotnikov, Bob Hepple and Chris de Cooker.
