Kim Rooney is an international arbitrator and Hong Kong barrister, sitting as arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations of commercial, construction and infrastructure, finance, high technology, energy and resources disputes. Previously a partner of White & Case
LLP, heading its Asian international dispute resolution practice, she is a member of the ICC’s International Court of Arbitration, eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre's Board, the Hong Kong Bar Association's Council (chairing its Arbitration Committee, and the Rules Committee of the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation. The editor of the IBA's “Dispute Resolution International”, she chaired the Hong Kong Law Reform Commission's Subcommittee on Third Party Funding for Arbitration; she was one of the drafters of Part 10A of the Arbitration Ordinance being the 2017 amendments to the Arbitration Ordinance (Cap 609) which implemented the Law Reform Commission’s recommendation to allow third party funding of arbitration. She is also admitted as an English solicitor and a Western Australian barrister and solicitor.
