Satoshi Ogawa is a senior associate at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, licensed in Japan (Daini-Tokyo Bar Association). From 2019 to 2021, he was seconded to the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC), Japan’s data protection authority, where he was responsible for the 2020 amendment of the APPI and the subsequent amendment of cabinet orders, rules, guidelines, and Q&As, as well as interpretation of the APPI. His main practice areas include data protection, IT-related litigation, and cybersecurity. He frequently handles matters involving regulatory authorities, including the PPC. He serves as an advisor to IAB Japan (JIAA), the Japanese partner of the Interactive Advertising Bureau.
