Simon Miles

Simon is a UK solicitor, a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and Head of the Intellectual Property Team at Edwin Coe. He advises clients on all intellectual property rights but is probably best known for his work in relation to brands. Simon builds lasting alliances with clients across a range of sectors including: fashion, cosmetics, media and entertainment, retail services, media planning and advertising, sport, travel, electronics, automotive, manufacturing, restaurants and foodstuffs. He is ranked as a “Leading Individual” in the independently researched legal directories Chambers UK 2023 and Legal 500 UK 2023 for Intellectual Property. He is also a WIPR (World IP Review) ‘Leader’ and is listed in the WTR ‘1000’ (World Trademark Review) for trade mark enforcement and litigation globally. Simon was Legal Adviser to the European Communities Trade Mark Association until 2021, sat on their Council and led their Brexit Task Force. He is a former CITMA Council Member and sat on their Designs Committee. He edits the chapters in the European and UK Trade Mark Handbooks on European Free Movement and Trade Mark Transactions. Since qualifying in 1995 Simon’s practice in intangible assets has covered transactional matters, prosecution and protection of rights, and dispute resolution.
