Sir Philip specialised in financial remedies at 1 Hare Court for nearly thirty years, of which he was a QC for ten years. In 2011, he was appointed a Judge of the High Court, Family Division, where he undertook many of the high-profile financial remedy cases. He retired from the judiciary in October 2024 and has returned to Chambers to conduct private FDRs.
