Steven Sarangavany Sengayen
Steven Sarangavany Sengayen is an influential international lawyer, a practising English solicitor of the senior courts of England and Wales, and the founder and managing partner of Steven and Associates Law Firm based in Mauritius. He also holds the prestigious position of Founder and President of the Mauritius Branch of the International Law Association (ILA). While his practice is based in both Mauritius and the City of London, his influence extends globally. With a diverse legal education, including degrees from the Universities of Hull, Oxford and London, he also earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Bradford. Notably, he was the first Mauritian Freeman of the City of London Solicitors’ Company. Steven excels in dispute resolution, litigation, corporate law and insolvency law, and he has a key role in high-profile appeals. He is also a World Bank contributor in the field of insolvency law, demonstrating his profound influence in international law. In his role as President of the Mauritius ILA, Steven has organised international conferences, providing valuable insights into emerging trends in international commercial arbitration. He is also a contributing member of the ILA executive council and has chaired several ILA committees and study groups, making him the first Mauritian citizen to achieve this honour.
