Tânia Aoki Carneiro is a lawyer licensed to practice law in Brazil and California/U.S., and is the founding partner of Aoki, Ferreira & Yamashita Propriedade Intelectual and Aoki e Yamashita Advogados. She has a bachelor’s degree, as well as a Specialist’s and Master’s degree in Civil Procedural Law, from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, and a Master of Laws in American Law from Washington University in St. Louis. She attended the Japan Patent Office (JPO) IP rights training course for IP Protection Lawyers promoted by the JPO, and is the President of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association — Section of São Paulo. She is the Institutional Relations Director of Associação Paulista da Propriedade Intelectual (ASPI) and Vice Chair of the Unfair Competition Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA). She was recommended for her practice in patent litigation by Leaders League in 2018 and 2019 and in trademark litigation since 2022. She is also nominated as one of the Most Admired Lawyers in Intellectual Property by Anuário Advocacia 500 since 2020, and as one of the Most Admired Women Lawyers in Intellectual Property by Análise Advocacia Mulher since 2021.
