Alibaba executive gives $30M to Yale Law School

The executive vice chairman of the Alibaba Group - often referred to as the Chinese Amazon -has donated $30m to his alma mater.

The funds have been given by Joseph Tsai in honour of his father Paul Tsai, also a Yale law alum, and will boost Yale’s China Center, which will be renamed the Paul Tsai China Center. It is one of just a handful of institutes dedicated specifically to China at US law schools and aims to advance legal reform within China and improve relations between China and the US.
