Anderson Mori launches in Vietnam with new office
Japanese law firm Anderson Mori and Tomotsune has expanded into Vietnam with the opening of an office in Ho Chi Minh City. The firm also established a Jakarta desk in the office of Roosdiono & Partners this May.
The new office is aimed at Japanese companies that intend to establish and increase their business presence in Vietnam. It also serves Japanese and other foreign-affiliated entities that require local law advice on labour and employment, corporate, and other compliance matters. Yasufumi Miki, Anderson Mori partner, is heading the new office. Having been seconded to Vietnamese firm VILAF, Mr Miki has significant experience in banking and finance and is familiar with transactions related to Vietnam. He works alongside one Japanese-qualified lawyer and another Vietnamese lawyer; both have considerable exposure to investments in Asian jurisdictions.
Anderson opened its Jakarta desk inside the office of Roosdiono & Partners, its local relation firm in Indonesia, to assist Japanese-affiliated companies currently doing or intending to do business in Indonesia. It works in fields including dispute resolution, financial transactions, joint ventures, M&A, negotiations with authorities and obtaining licenses and permits.
