Rimini Street, the third-party maintenance and support provider for enterprise software, has appointed Daniel B Winslow to the new post of general counsel. He also becomes senior vice president. The new GC was a member of the House of Representatives in Massachusetts from 2011 until recently when he stood down in order to accept this new position. He has also stood down from law firm Duane Morris where he worked with in-house counsel from the other side, according to the National Post.
Meanwhile, Ethan Knowlden has become general counsel and company secretary, as well as senior vice president, at Complete Genomics. He comes over from Novartis, according to Bio IT World where he has spent the last 13 years in the dual roles of corporate counsel and vice president of business development and licensing. He had previously been in private practice.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Nick Olley has been announced as the new general counsel at the UK's Department of Transport. He will arrive in November, departing from law firm Burges Salmon where he was head of the transport group. According to Who's Who Legal, Mr Olley was 'involved in rail privatisation in the early 1990s and…was engaged by the Department of Transport in an advisory role'.
Multinational Your Agriculture Company has chosen Roger Batkin as its new general counsel. Also becoming vice president, Mr Batkin has been at the manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment for 13 years, according to Yahoo! Finance. He has been working as interim general counsel since June.
