New York headquartered digital imagery company Shutterstock has appointed Laurie Harrison as general counsel for its global operations. Ms Harrison joins from ACE Group where she was  vice president and senior counsel, corporate affairs. She also served nearly seven years as the deputy general counsel at EnerNOC, a provider of energy intelligence software. Prior to this, she worked in private practice specialising in  corporate and securities law at WilmerHale in Boston. 'Laurie has an impressive combination of legal expertise and business acumen which will be a great asset to our company as we continue to expand and grow,' said Jon Oringer, founder and CEO of Shutterstock.

Massachusetts based Infinity Pharmaceuticals has hired Winston “K.C.” Lam as executive vice president and general counsel. Mr Lam brings more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including expertise in oncology and hematology. He will report to Adelene Perkins, chair, president and chief executive officer at Infinity. Prior to joining Infinity, Mr Lam was chief legal officer at Caris Life Sciences. Before that, he served as group vice president and associate general counsel at Schering-Plough where he served as chief legal counsel for the Global Pharmaceuticals Business Unit which represented 75 percent of Schering-Plough’s total revenues. 

Publicis Groupe has recruited Joseph LaSala as its new general counsel. LaSala joins from Sapient Corp, the agency, consulting and technology services company that Publicis acquired earlier this year for $3.7 billion. Mr LaSala joined Sapient in 2011 as SVP, general counsel and secretary, overseeing worldwide legal, commercial and regulatory affairs for the company. He replaces Eric Antoine who is leaving the company.

UK company BG Group has recruited Tom Melbye Eide as its head of legal. He joins from Norwegian aluminium manufacturer Sapa and  replaces Graham Vintner who is retiring from the company after eight years at the helm. Mr Melbye Eide joined Sapa in 2013 and was previously at energy company Statoil.  Mr Vinter joined BG in 2007 after 27 years with Allen & Overy. BG is currently the target of a takeover by Royal Dutch Shell.
