The Carphone Warehouse (now Dixons Carphone) has appointed a new general counsel Michaelpuche

Dixons Carphone has appointed Nigel Paterson to be its new general counsel. Mr Paterson joins from BT Group where he headed up  consumer legal, governance, compliance & regulatory arms. At BT he worked across a number of divisions in the consumer business side including broadband, fixed and mobiles, BT Sport and Wi-Fi. He had earlier worked as legal counsel at ExxonMobil International and trained at Linklaters.

PayPal has appointed Louise Pentland as its general counsel as the online payments company prepares to split from eBay. Ms Pentland, who was chief legal officer at Nokia, joins the company on April 27. She comes to PayPal 'with deep legal and commercial knowledge along with a strategic understanding of the mobile technology landscape', the press release says. She will be responsible for PayPal’s compliance with financial and regulatory requirements around the world.

Private Equity company TPG's general counsel Ronald Cami is stepping down after five years at the firm. He has not said where he is going but has agreed to stay until a replacement is found. He previosuly worked at New York law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP as a mergers and acquisitions specialist.

Cincinnati property company Phillips Edison & Company has appointed Tanya Brady to the position of senior vice president and general counsel. As general counsel, Ms Brady will serve as key legal advisor on all major business transactions, lead corporate strategic and tactical initiatives and provide the company's leadership team with guidance on company strategies and their implementation.Ms Brady has over 20 years of experience and was previously a partner with Kirkland & Ellis  in its Chicago office for 10 years. 

Christine Mason Soneral has been promoted to senior vice president and general counsel of ITC Holdings.  She previously served as vice president and general counsel. 'Christine has distinguished herself in this industry while playing a critical role in our growth strategy as a leading energy company,' said Joseph L. Welch, chairman, president and CEO. 'We look forward to her continued contributions as we help define the future of this evolving industry to the maximum benefit of electricity customers.' Ms Mason Soneral joined ITC in 2007. 

The Hartford has appinted David Robinson executive vice president and general counsel to succeeds its current general counsel Alan Kreczko. Mr Robinson joined The Hartford in 2006 and has held a number of leadership positions including leading The Hartford’s legal efforts in property/ casualty and group benefits, overseeing corporate law and serving as corporate secretary. Most recently, he managed the company’s restructuring efforts. Prior to The Hartford, Mr Robinson spent a number of years with Chubb, including serving as deputy general counsel. Mr Kreczko served as the general counsel to three different CEOs at The Hartford which he joined in 2007.  Prior to joining The Hartford in 2003, Kreczko held various senior positions within the federal government including in the State Department.
