Diabetes player appoints general counsel Alejandro Dans Neergaad

Intarcia Therapeutics - a significant player in the diabetes sector - has announced the appointment of Raymond Keane as vice president, general counsel and chief legal officer. He will report directly to the chairman and CEO. Mr Keane comes from ARIAD Pharmaceuticals where he served as senior vice president, general counsel, secretary, and chief compliance officer, according to PR NewsWire

A former legal expert in the airlines sector has joined Indiana-based, family-owned Salin Bank as its general counsel and executive vice-president. Brian T Hunt - after more than 23 years of experience with ATA Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines - will now be in charge of all the legal affairs of Salin within Indiana. When he was in the airline sector, Mr Hunt was frequently involved in reviewing and negotiating financial agreements on the acquisition of planes, according to the Fort Mill Times

In another north American appointment, Connacher  Oil and Gas has appointed Suzanne Loov to the position of general counsel and corporate secretary. A specialist in regulatory compliance, corporate finance and corporate commercial matters, she took on the new role for the Calgary-based organisation on 1 September, according to NewsWire

The Association of Corporate Counsel is giving its highest honour, the 'Excellence in Corporate Practice Award' to Sandra Leung, general counsel and corporate secretary at Bristol-Myers Squibb - in particular for her development of the training and leadership programmes she has developed.
