US-based Kindred Healthcare has announced that Joseph L. Ladenwich will be promoted to the role of general counsel and corporate secretary from 31 January. Mr Ladenwich has worked with Kindred since 1996, gaining the title of corporate secretary in 1999 and then co-general counsel in 2012. He will assume the role of sole general counsel following the departure of current co-general counsel and chief diversity officer Suzanne Riedman, who is stepping down after sixteen and five years in the role respectively.

A large-scale management reshuffle at Canadian information management software company OpenText will see current chief legal officer Gordon Davies assume the additional role of chief administrative officer. In addition to serving as CLO, Mr Davies is also executive vice president and corporate secretary. Also notable among OpenText's appointments was the news that chief executive officer Mark J. Barrenechea will also take on the role of chief technology officer, while Stephen Murphy has been named as the company's new president.

Earlier this month, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces announced that former Hindustan Unilever senior legal counsel Rajendra Misra will come on board as the group's new general counsel. The role has until now been occupied by Taj Hotels' company secretary and vice president of legal Beejal Desai, who will stay on as company secretary. Mr Misra has also previously held the role of associate general counsel at ITC, as well as serving on the legal teams of Dunlop India and Indal.
