Internet search engine giant Yahoo! will be deleting Michael Callahan from its general counsel home page, as he moves on to leading online real estate shop Auction.com as executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary.
With twenty years of experience on his resume, Callahan previously worked for the Yahoo! team as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, first beginning in 1999.
At the Silicon Valley office, Callahan will be in charge of the company’s legal, regulatory, intellectual property, government relations, compliance, ethics and corporate governance.
California based technological networking company Extreme Networks recently acquired Allison Amadia to take over as vice president and general counsel. Her new role, where she will also be secretary of the company, requires her to keep an eye on international legal practices. With 20 years of experience under her belt, Amadia will be saying goodbye to her independent legal consultant position advising a number of other technology companies.
The former chief counsel to the Federal Communications Commission Chairman is joining a leading US law firm.
International firm Paul Hastings LLP announced on Monday that it was recruiting Sherrese Smith as a partner in its telecommunications, technology and media practice. Prior to the move, Smith represented Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski as chief counsel and legal adviser, reports The Hill.com.
Smith will begin her new role, which focuses on data security and privacy, at the firm’s Washington office in August.
