Ashurst reportedly offered contracts to 17 of its 19 qualifiers, but only 15 accepted. The NQ lawyers will see their salaries lifted from £45,000 to £65,000 and will as associates face a target workload of 1,600 office hours per year. Eleven of the new associates will be heading to Ashurst's corporate team, while the other four will join disputes.
The latest result is a dip below Ashurst's performance in the Autumn round, when it retained 86 per cent of its qualifiers. While still a fair step behind firms like Norton Rose Fulbright and 'silver circle' rival Herbert Smith Freehills, which both kept more than 90 per cent of their qualifiers this round, Ashurst's retention performance has remained relatively steady between 70-90 per cent over the last few years.
