Herbert Smith Freehills' TMT partners Nick Elverston and Amanda Hale will be leaving the firm's London office to commit their talents instead to Ashurst's own TMT practice in the City. Ms Hale has been a partner with HSF's TMT practice since 2011 and has more than two decades experience practicing in the field, including stints as general counsel for tech startup M2M and for the UK telecommunications regulator. Mr Elverston became a partner in HSF's TMT practice in 2004 and is the firm's current global co-head.

The pair will be based in London and focused on EMEA and US matters, while working alongside the firm's TMT practice in Australia.

'The appointment represents a significant step in the further development of our presence in the digital economy, working for clients which are high-tech, high-growth and international in nature,' commented Ashurst chairman Ben Tidswell.
