The about-face comes rather suddenly and very much at the eleventh hour, as it was confirmed last week that Beltrami had already shifted his belongings out of 3VB to his new chambers.
The addition of Beltrami would have been considered a major coup for One Essex Court. Specialising in commercial litigation and advisory work in banking and finance, corporate insolvency and restructuring, commercial disputes and professional negligence, Beltrami is recommended in The Legal 500 and described therein as 'always the first choice for large-scale, difficult matters.'
Fellow 3VB silk Sonia Tolaney went ahead with the switch yesterday to One Essex Court as announced on 23 March, together with juniors James MacDonald and Sandy Phipps.
