Bird & Bird links up with two Indonesian firms

Bird & Bird has taken the unusual step of adding two firms from the same country, Indonesia, to its Pan-Asian network of allied firms.

Indonesia is the latest port of call for UK law firm Bird & Bird Jirsak

Both are based in Jakarta. They are the IP boutique K&K Advocates and the five-partner practice Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners. Justin Walkey, Asia Pacific chair of Bird & Bird, said: ‘The introduction of the ASEAN Economic Community has accelerated client expectations and in turn created a strong demand for Bird & Bird’s services within the participating countries and in particular within Indonesia.’

Other offices

The firm has a long term presence in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore and has established other cooperation agreements in the region, including Australia, China and Malaysia. It also signed a cooperation agreement with one of Korea's top 10 firms Hwang Mok & Park.  Source: Bird & Bird
