The firm, which has 11 partners and 24 lawyers in total, will join Blank Rome's Houston office, bringing the latter's IP practice to more than 60 lawyers in the 540 lawyer firm. Mr Cabello will be co-chair of the IP and technolog group whilst Russell Wong will sit on Blank Rome's 39 strong partner board. Mr Cabello said that the way forward was to be in a bigger firm with more negotiating power for fees and he added that the firm had gone on the merger marketplace last November. Wong Cabello was formed 14 years ago following the departure of a team of lawyers including David Cabello and Russell Wong from the general counsel’s office of Compaq Computer Corp.
