Brazilian lawyer returns with team

Tauil & Chequer strengthens environmental practice with return of partner Luiz Gustavo Bezerra who helped establish practice in 2014.

Brazilian firm Tauil & Chequer Advogados, in association with Mayer Brown, has announced the return of Luiz Gustavo Bezerra to its partnership, along with the arrival of five lawyers to its Environmental practice.

Helped established

Joining from Mattos Filho, Mr Bezerra has 20 years of professional experience in both consulting and litigation He is the coordinator of the environmental committee at the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito da Energia (IBDE) and chair of the environmental licensing group of the AMCHAM. He also serves as a teacher for several graduate degree courses on environmental law. “Luiz Gustavo is returning to the firm’s environmental practice group, which he helped establish, structure and run until 2014,” said Alexandre Chequer, the managing partner of Tauil & Chequer. “I am sure that the synergy between our respected team - which includes renowned professionals Paulo de Bessa and Vilmar Gonçalves - and the group brought by Luiz Gustavo will add much value to our clients.
