Aderant, the world's largest independent legal software company, has published a paper, 'In defence of Big Law's Future' in which it puts the legal sector in the context of other industries. It predicts long-term stability and growth. Three factors lead to this conclusion. First, the knowledge and expertise services of lawyers cannot be substituted by others. Secondly, new IT techniques in the law are creating financial opportunity, not just the downward financial pressure seen in other sectors.
