CC follows downsizing trend in Moscow

Clifford Chance is following Allen & Overy by cutting back on its headcount in Russia as instability in the country has reduced the amount of capital markets work and tightened the flow of other matters.

Clifford Chance is laying off more than twice the number that Allen & Overy laid off in November. While A&O parted company with four associates, CC is saying good-bye to five lawyers and five other staff in the Russian capital.On its website this morning, CC listed seven senior lawyers and consultants as working from Moscow, alongside 39 associates and executives and two business management staff.
