China's Ke Jie forms global legal network

Ke Jie Law Office, based in Beijing, has formed a global legal network service with thirteen foreign firms.

The network is known as Cathay Associates and covers offices in 20 cities across Asia and Europe, including Kuala Lumpur, Budapest, Madrid, Paris, Prague, Vienna and Warsaw. He Jie, managing partner of Ke Jie, will serve as the network’s chairman. Former Yingke global partner Rupert Varnai is the CEO, while the third founder, Pascal Demko, is the global managing partner.

Financially and legally independent

With a headcount of roughly 700 worldwide, the network will focus on M&A, financing and investment. Each law firm within it will remain legally and financially independent, but will work closely with one another and all 14 members will provide legal services to Cathay Associates clients.
