China's third largest firm votes to stay independent

Zhong Lun decided on its next phase of development at a partner conference at the weekend - to remain independent and build up a global 'best friends' network rather than going down the merger route.

The 'best friend' network will consist of leading firms in the BRICS countries and from the regions covered by China's 'one belt, one road' initiative docstockmedia

The firm has also fully integrated its Hong Kong associate firm Boughton Peterson Yang Anderson after five years of collaboration. It will take on the Zhong Lun name.

Common direction

Managing partner Wu Peng said that different options had been suggested within the firm in recent years. And he added: 'It’s increasingly important to have a clear firm-wide strategy so our partners can remain focused and work collectively towards a common direction.' Source: The Lawyer
