City hires: Nabarro, Orrick, Squire Patton Boggs and PwC

Nabarro, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Squire Patton Boggs have added to their ranks, while accounting firm PwC is developing its legal arm with a double partner hire.

Nabarro has boosted its international disputes offering with the hire of two partners from Fasken Martineau. Chris Gooding and Sukhi Kaler have joined the team to strengthen the disputes offering across London, Dubai and Singapore. They have worked together for over 15 years and join as Nabarro grows its international arbitration presence.

Orrick has hired two partners for its rapidly expanding London office, taking Dominic O'Brien for its finance team and Weyinmi Popo for its M&A and private equity practice and Africa team. They are the tenth and eleventh lateral hires the firm has made since 2014.

Squire Patton Boggs has hired real estate partner Mark Barker from DWF in Manchester. Mr Barker has more than 25 years’ real estate experience and specialises in development work with particular expertise in strategic and complex regeneration projects.

Meanwhile, Big Four firm PwC has made two key hires with the appointment of Thomas Colmer and David Farmer. Mr Colmer was a partner at Osborne Clarke and his practice focuses on high growth corporates, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and founders. Mr Farmer, a partner at DLA Piper for the last three years, joins the pension team and has experience advising employers and trustees on all aspects of pensions law.
