After defeating the Golden State Warriors 93-89 on Sunday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers delivered a day of celebration and community so momentous for the US city that the Cleveland Municipal Court felt it imperative that everyone be able to take part – even those due to appear before the court on criminal charges. A statement published by Cleaveland.com said that the Cleveland Municipal Court would not issue arrest warrants for no-shows during Wednesday’s victory parade, and would also be cancelling all housing court dates after 11am. ‘Given the historic nature of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBS Championship victory, it is only right and proper that the Cleveland Municipal Court facilitate an opportunity for our employees and those who use the Cleveland Municipal Court’s facilities to join with the rest of Northeast Ohio and the Cavaliers’ nation for the celebratory parade scheduled to take place tomorrow,’ said Ronald Adrine, the presiding judge of the court’s general division, on Tuesday. This is the first time the Cleveland Cavaliers have taken home the NBA Championship title since 1964.
