Bonus payments are on the up for GCs Constantin Stanciu

Senior in-house lawyers will share a £1 billion bonus pot (£985 million) as the economy continues to improve. With bonuses on the up, the average pay-out is now 39 per cent of salary, according to research from recruiters Laurence Simons. This amounts to £44,133 and, with salaries averaging £112,920,the  total package for inhouse lawyers is £157,053, a 12 per cent increase from last year.  Meanwhile, nearly three quarters (72 per cent) of lawyers remain open to a job move  this year with senior lawyers demanding a 16 per cent pay increase when changing jobs. Lawyers also have the feel-good factor about the 2015 economic outlook: 58 per cent  described themselves as feeling optimistic and just 13 per cent felt  that conditions were likely to worsen over the year.
