Criminal lawyer stabbed after return from honeymoon

David Edwards, 51, a criminal solicitor from Lancashire in the UK, died in his home with one stab wound, days after returning from honeymooning in Las Vegas - and his widow Sharon, 42, is understood to have been taken into custody.

Friends have reported that the couple's relationship was 'stormy'. A statement from Lancashire Police said: 'An investigation is underway and a 42-year-old woman from Chorley has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody at this time. Officers believe that the incident is domestic related.'

Three languages

Mr Edwards had run his own firm, Stanley H Cross, until it was taken over by Kevills Solicitors. He spoke three languages. He is believed to have been made redundant earlier this year. Partners Simon and Vicky Nicholson of Kevills said: 'The partners and staff … were shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the death of David Mark Edwards. David was a talented criminal defence solicitor who we had known personally and professionally for many years.' Source: Daily Telegraph
