Friends have reported that the couple's relationship was 'stormy'. A statement from Lancashire Police said: 'An investigation is underway and a 42-year-old woman from Chorley has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody at this time. Officers believe that the incident is domestic related.'

Three languages

Mr Edwards had run his own firm, Stanley H Cross, until it was taken over by Kevills Solicitors. He spoke three languages. He is believed to have been made redundant earlier this year.
