Cuatrecasas, a top 5 European law firm, says it is continuing to focus on innovation and technology, prioritising gender equality policies, flexible schedules and processes that improve service efficiency.
Strategic milestones
The firm earned total revenues of 277.4 million euros in 2018, which represents a growth of 12 per cent compared to the previous year. This is the firm’s largest increase in revenues in the past decade, which the firms says consolidates their growth path. The results have been produced across all the territories and areas of practice, but have been especially successful in the Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon and international offices. The firm also promoted, during 2018, 11 lawyers as new quota partners from the main practice areas, and increased staffing by 3.4% in the last year and has 1,633 employees. Rafael Fontana, executive president at Cuatrecasas, said ‘the good results are the result of meeting the milestones of our strategic plan, which has fostered collaboration between practices and offices, the commitment to innovation, international growth and new policies focused on people.’
Innovation success
Cuatrecasas says the mainstay in the strategy has been Innovation. In 2018, the Knowledge and Innovation Area was reorganized, with 40 professionals dedicated exclusively to R&D and innovation tasks for the development of research projects for the team and clients, which include the development of Artificial Intelligence tools. Cuatrecasas Accelera, a start-up accelerator specialized in Legaltech, has completed its third edition and has launched a pioneering initiative in the legal sector: the tokenization of legal services through Blockchain. It is a pilot and unique service for the winning projects of the latest edition of Accelera: Blocktac and FuVeX.
