Deutsche Bank senior lawyer commits suicide in New York

One of the senior Deutsche Bank regulatory lawyers who has been involved in negotiating over allegations of benchmark fixing appears to have committed suicide.

Calogero Gambino was an associate general counsel and a managing director. He was closely involved in negotiating with the regulators over allegations on Libor and currency market benchmarks. The bank has paid €6.1b in fines and settlements in the last two and a half years. The 41-year old Mr Gambino appears to have hung himself. Source: Wall Street Journal
