Columbia: DLA Piper has linked up with MNA alexmillos

The move is part of a strategy to increase the presence of the global firm in the Americas, north and south. The announcement follows on from the set-up of new partnership arrangements in Canada and Mexico. The new Colombia partner - called MNA (Martinez Neira Abogadas) in DLA's announcements - has, says DLA, 'significant capabilities across a range of practices, including corporate, M&A, banking, antitrust, capital markets, litigation, tax and energy'.

Economic boom

Roger Meltzer of DLA Piper said: 'MNA is a major player in the Latin American market and an ideal partner for us. Colombia in particular is a key jurisdiction with particularly attractive opportunities, having experienced an historic economic boom in the last decade with strong prospects for continued growth.'
