Caitlin Sanchez: all options explored

Caitlin Sanchez, 17, argued that she was ‘duped’ into a settlement deal that, with tax payments and lawyer contingency fees factored in, left her with basically nothing, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Settlement agreement

However, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals has blown her appeals away after three circuit judges affirmed the lower court's decision to affirm the settlement agreement.
In the original lawsuit, Ms Sanchez claimed she had been given just 22 minutes to sign a deal to voice Dora without an experienced lawyer. She claims that she signed the deal with the alleged promise of a cut from advertising.
When the show became a hit – reportedly worth $11bn as a global brand – Ms Sanchez attempted to sue the Viacom divisions for underpaying her on an ‘unconscionable’ contract.
