Eastern European firm alliance starts with Czech and Slovak pioneers
A Czech law firm, Tomicek Legal, and a Slovak counterpart, Fox Martens, are setting up a referral network which they hope to expand through the Visegrad group of countries including Hungary, Poland, Germany and Austria.
The network, called CEE Attorneys, is already in discussions with other practices. Fox Martens partners Michal Martinak says that candidates will be subject to lengthy scrutiny in order to ensure that CEE clients get 'the best possible legal advice in all countries of the region'.
Tomicek already takes an international approach, offering legal services in English,German, Russian and Spanish and having, as it says on its website, developed 'strong relationships with other attorney's offices in the CEE Region, as well as with tax and advisory companies and translators'.
