The firm's Washington-based vice chairman, Mark Lutes, said that the Atlanta office had been a money-losing operation for several years. The Atlanta office staffed 14 out of Epstein Becker’s total 258 lawyers nationwide specializing in health law and labour and employment law, the ABA Journal reports.
Clients
Healthcare provider Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia Inc, medical services provider Caduceus Occupational Medicine LLC and call center company Alorica were among the clientele at the Atlanta office, according to the court records.
Other closures
The firm has also recently closed offices in Miami in 2010 and operations in Dallas in 2008. It has, however, opened an office in Indianapolis specialising in healthcare. Lutes said some lawyers may stay on board at Epstein Becker, whether that is at a different location or at a smaller satellite office in Atlanta.
