The two firms, which have a best friend relationship, are in early stage discussions, according to a report by Legal Week which says a deal is unlikely this year. The Turkish firm also has an office in Russia.

Russia calling

The UK firm is also looking to formalise its alliance with Russian law firm Capital Legal Services. The two are in advanced discussions with an eye to the Russian firm becoming part of the UK law firm’s international network, Legal Week reports.  Capital Legal Services (CLS) is based in Moscow and St Petersberg and is one of the leading Russian firms servicing Russian and international companies. Prior to CLS, managing partner Vladislav Zabrodin was a lawyer at McDermott, Will & Emery and headed the CIS legal group of OTIS Elevator company.
